Overview
Using Toyota Production System (TPS) principles, this role involves integrating innovative solutions and technology in logistics, warehousing, transportation management, and automation. The engineer will lead technological initiatives, evaluate and implement automation and digital solutions to enhance operations and business capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assess operational needs and define technical requirements.
- Identify automation opportunities through process analysis.
- Evaluate market solutions for warehouse automation, TMS, and digital tracking.
- Design future processes and implementation frameworks with new technologies.
- Create technical specifications and integration plans.
- Lead proof-of-concept projects and pilot programs.
- Coordinate with vendors, IT, and stakeholders during deployment.
- Manage relationships with technology providers and lead technical discussions.
- Guide project teams on technology selection and implementation strategies.
- Ensure alignment between operational needs and technological solutions.
- Develop technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems Engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain technology implementation.
- Strong knowledge of WMS and TMS systems.
- Experience with automation technologies in logistics.
- Excellent project and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
