Certified Medical Assistant
Growing medical office in Tallahassee, FL has one open part-time position for a Medical Assistant to assist our providers with patients which will include taking vitals, gathering medical history, completing medication counts, retrieving imaging and medical records and entering details into EMR. Candidate must have a great attitude and a strong desire to work as part of a team to help patients in a compassionate way. Experience with Athena EMR a plus.
Examples of Essential Medical Assistant Duties:
• Welcoming patients to clinic and taking vitals.
• Escorting patients to exam room.
• Preparing exam rooms.
• Preparing patient for Provider (i.e. histories, blood pressure, lab results, imaging, vitals, etc.).
• Returning patient calls/cases in portal/texts with OhMD, calling pharmacies and other medical offices
• Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
• Assisting the Physician during procedures
• Assisting with ordering and stocking the procedure room with supplies.
• Administering injections.
• Following up with lab work and/or xrays.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Applicant must have compassion, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, reliable transportation and be highly dependable.

Southern Interventional Pain Center in Thomasville, Georgia, and Lake City and Tallahassee, Florida, is a pain management practice that provides comprehensive pain care for patients. Max Shokat, DO, and their board-certified physicians specialize in the non-operative treatment for the spine, joints, muscles, and nerve pain, performing all procedures at the practice.
The practice offers pain management services that include treatments for arthritis, back and neck pain, sciatica, joint pain, and neuropathy. Physicians use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) stem cell therapy to help the body heal and provide pain relief, and they sometimes utilize spinal cord stimulation for chronic conditions.
Southern Interventional Pain Center also has a full-time, Suboxone® certified counselor to support patients that need assistance with overcoming withdrawal from opioid use.
