Effectively coordinate claims/LOA cases in compliance with all applicable federal & state legislation as well as company policy. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to employees and community leaders.

Essential Job Functions:
The Leave of Absence Specialist must exhibit the following competencies:
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deep knowledge and understanding of FMLA, ADA and other applicable federal, state, and local laws relevant to leave of absence programs. Ability to remain abreast of changing legislation and apply it to current company practices and policies
- Maintains required leave documentation, responsible for verifying eligibility, classifying the leave type and updating the systems accordingly
- Provide information, guidance and direction to managers & employees regarding leave of absence policies and procedures. Educate managers on leave policies and procedures
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret leave plan documents and effectively communicate polices and requirements
- Support communities through the interactive accommodation process and maintain required documentation
- Work with community leaders to ensure understanding, adherence, and best practices for leave of absences
- Create and maintain accurate leave of absence tracking as needed. Provide accurate reporting on status of leaves, trends, and escalations
- Develops and conducts educational training plans and dedicated resource for all community LOA/ADA needs
- Maintain confidentiality of employee communications, medical documentation and files, while maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of sensitive company and employee data
- The ability to actively contribute as a team player, with both the immediate Benefits team, as well as assigned cross-functional teams
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; HR Certification or Certified Leave Specialist preferred
- 3-5 years of full cycle LOA experience, multistate preferred; employment law knowledge a plus
- Thorough knowledge of Federal and State laws and rulings related to leaves (disability, parental and family leave, Pregnancy Fairness Workers Act) and the ADA accommodation process
- Highly organized, experience working in a fast-paced environment with numerous deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with internal and external vendors and internal clients
- Excellent computer skills, especially with spreadsheets, databases and MS Office programs
