Storied French luxury department store, Printemps, opened its first ever US location at One Wall Street in the heart of the Financial District. Located in the historic 50-story landmark, Printemps has five distinct food and beverage concepts ranging from a casual cafe to a fine dining restaurant. Food and beverage is helmed by Top Chef alumnus and 3-time James Beard Award Winner, Chef Gregory Gourdet.

Job Summary:

The Bartender plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service during the daily operations of the establishment and will ensure to provide high-quality beverage and service that is set up to create memorable moments of hospitality for our guests.

This role requires the ability to prioritize and use good judgment in a fast paced environment with a warm and friendly demeanor.


We believe in a ‘whole house’ mentality and we expect all departments (Pastry, Savory, Dining Room, and Facilities) to support and motivate each other to achieve our goal of guest satisfaction. As a Bartender, you will interact with all of these departments regularly and should be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with your co-workers & managers.


This is a full time position. Our locations at Printemps are open 7 days a week.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with daily bar preparation to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and distribute garnishes for service at designated bars.
  • Coordinate with the Lead Bartender regarding stock counts.
  • Foster effective teamwork while demonstrating genuine hospitality to guests.
  • Master the menu, beverage descriptions, and allergy information to confidently assist guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the bar area at all times.
  • Exhibit a warm, kind, and knowledgeable demeanor while showing genuine appreciation to both guests and team members.
  • Provide exceptional guest experiences by ensuring every individual feels welcome and valued.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, composure, and accommodating attitude at all times.
  • Proactively identify and report any issues to management promptly.
  • Monitor service flow and dining timing, adjusting to meet each guest's unique needs.
  • Deliver attentive service to bar guests, focusing on precision and attention to detail.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Adhere to and uphold all restaurant standards, procedures, and policies consistently.
  • Participate in training sessions focused on spirits, food, and service to continually enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Maintains excellent organization, and cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring that all bar & beverage supplies and disposables are available, and the bar is Health Inspection compliant at all times.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all leaders and line staff throughout service periods, ensuring effective and timely communication.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience behind the bar in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on guest service and hospitality
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, maintaining composure and
    professionalism under pressure.
  • Must have flexible availability
  • Must be knowledgeable of classic and modern cocktails
  • knowledgeable of liquors: how they are made, brands, regional specifics is a plus
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing)
  • Must be able to take constructive criticisms and work well in a team dynamic

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • GED or equivalent level of education preferred
  • WSET, BarSmart, Agave Spirits Certification, Pisco Certificate a plus
