About the Opportunity:
A growing, specialized general contractor is seeking a Construction Estimator with 10+ years of experience estimating public works projects. This role is part of the pre-construction leadership team, overseeing all estimating functions from initial design review through bid submission. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and skilled at managing subcontractor relationships and value engineering exercises.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead pre-construction estimating for public works construction projects.
Perform quantity take-offs, cost analysis, budgeting, and value engineering.
Manage subcontractor bid lists and ensure competitive, complete pricing.
Review design documents for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
Coordinate operational input and site logistics into estimate development.
Develop and present bid proposals, variance analyses, and estimate summaries to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Experience & Skills:
10+ years of construction estimating experience, specifically on public works projects.
Background in project engineering, field supervision, or procurement is preferred.
Proven ability to lead pre-construction teams and processes.
Proficient in RS Means, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of building systems, materials, and public sector procurement requirements.
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
