Sometimes the threat to life, destruction of critical infrastructure or damage to the environment is so severe that a specially trained and equipped security force is needed. When that happens, Inter-Con turns to its Security Officers. As part of this elite team, you will secure some of our most vital assets. You will be trained in enhanced security procedures and be exposed to cutting edge technology. The qualifications are high, and the training is rigorous, but if you make it youll join one of the most exclusive clubs in the Inter-Con family. As a Security Officer you are at the tip of the spear when it comes to the advanced security solutions, we provide our clients every day.
Shift Supervisor
Typical Duties
Supervise SPOs and serve as lead. Operate and enforce a system of personnel identification/access/inspection procedures. Provide escort for armed law enforcement officers entering the building, as directed, and other visitors as directed by the COR. Make patrols according to routes and schedules specified in the Special Police Officers' post orders. Direct traffic (vehicle and pedestrian) on property, control parking, and issue citations. Distribute keys when required or directed by the COR or his/her designee. Respond to (when required), and mitigate the cause of the alarm with the assistance of the SOC. Observe building occupants and visitors for compliance with posted rules and regulations. The Special Police Officer shall be responsible for the detection and detainment of any person or persons attempting to gain unauthorized access into the building. Report daily under procedures in the Security Officers' desk books any potentially hazardous conditions or items in need of repair. Obtain and assist with medical assistance in the event of injury or illness to government employees or others while in the building or on foot patrol. Prepare detailed reports as required daily concerning thefts, accidents, medical emergencies, fires, bomb threats, chemical or biological threats, suspicious activities, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts for submission to the COR. Take appropriate action during any criminal act affecting building occupants, property, or the public lawfully in the building or on the grounds. Lost and Found management.
Qualifications
Be twenty-one (21) years of age or older. Must pass a physical fitness test. Possess a Metropolitan Police Department SOMB Armed SPO License. Successfully complete and receive certification for the use of expandable batons. Must pass the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2).
Education And Experience
Speak, read, and write English. Shift Supervisors must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the fields of physical security, force protection, and/or law enforcement. Combined experience in the fields identified is acceptable. Each Security Officer must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited local, county, state, military or federal law enforcement academy or have completed a state or local sanctioned basic security guard/officer training program meeting SOMB licensing requirements and must have 3 years of security experience showing: An ability to interact with the public in a professional manner. An ability to comprehend rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. An ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress. Have a minimum of six (6) years of private security, law enforcement, or relevant military experience and two (2) years of supervision experience.
