Software Systems Engineer/Java Developer Contract America Networks is a leading sensor and networking solutions provider for companies in the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Waste Management sectors. We design and manufacture sensors for storage tanks, water metering, energy metering, gas monitoring, and asset management. Our founders are experienced telecommunications engineers with over 200 years of combined expertise in designing, optimizing, and performance engineering for international wireless carriers. They identified the need for low-power, cost-efficient sensors to collect data, create alerts, and predict actions. We integrate these sensors with low power, wide area (LPWA) networking technologies to help clients reduce recurring costs associated with IoT networks of sensors and connected devices. We specialize in designing, deploying, optimizing, and supporting these networks. Whether off-the-shelf or custom solutions are needed, we create tailored solutions and deploy data on the most suitable cloud platforms, including client-owned options. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience as a Senior System Analyst/Developer with J2EE and Java technologies, including Spring, Servlet, Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOA, and AJAX. Solid experience in Java, OOP, SOA, modular code development, design patterns, and multi-threading. Server back-end and API/Service development experience is required. Experience with DROOLS Rules Engine, GDST, Guided Rule Engine, and Execution Server. Mobile web experience is a plus. Experience with Spring Integration, Caching, or similar technologies is a plus. Proficiency with JUnit/TestNG, Maven, Oracle, UNIX. Experience using GIT Stash and Accurev as SCM tools. Good understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, proactive attitude. Knowledge of industry best practices in enterprise software development and agile methodologies. Ability to design, analyze, evaluate, test, debug, document, and implement complex software applications. Experience in hardware and software solution evaluation and selection. Expertise in computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and operating systems engineering tasks. Ability to develop, maintain, and report intranet metrics. Experience interfacing with different departments regarding deployments. Research and analyze data processing functions, methods, and procedures. Monitor program execution for performance.
