McPherson County Public Works is seeking a full-time County Design/Project Engineer. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate from an accredited college or university, preferably with an EIT or capable of obtaining the FE certification within 6 months. The role involves assisting in the design of county engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage structures, under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Director. After employment, the candidate will become the Bridge Inspection Team Leader and will receive KDOT inspection and materials testing certifications. Training will be provided in Autocad Civil 3D, ASSHTOWare Bridge Loading software, MicroStation, and other design programs. Responsibilities include problem-solving county road and bridge maintenance and construction issues, and assisting in the operation of the county's asphalt plant. Compensation and Benefits
Beginning annual salary ranges from $70K to $100K (DOE), with two pay increases within the first year and a structured salary increase after passing the PE exam. Full county benefits are included. Application Process
