Role: Web Services Developer Location: Washington DC (Onsite) Client: DC government Job Description: The Web Services Developer responsibilities include being fluent in Agile / Scrum work environments to include but not limited to: Maintaining Java and Spring-based web services; Meeting with customers to discover problems and features; Working with customers to establish desired streamlined workflows for new features; Maintaining User Stories, Defects relevant to your tasks, and testing those which are not; Participating in daily stand-up meetings and full lifecycle Scrum deployments; Creating own tasks as the sole Web Service developer on the team. The developer is required to be highly knowledgeable in Java, Spring Boot Framework, Restful Web Services, and MVC or MVVM architecture. The developer should create consistent, working Web Services and be capable of creating mock-ups or demos quickly. Fundamental knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems, Java Lambda expressions, Version Control frameworks, and strategies for Continuous Integration Development and Testing is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are required. The developer must research solutions outside their current scope regularly and adapt quickly to implement them effectively. Responsibilities: Coordinate IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management. Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities. Develop technical applications to support users. Implement and enforce standards and procedures for system design, development, and documentation. Provide training on system products and procedures. Perform application upgrades and monitor real-time databases and communications. Troubleshoot problems and ensure project lifecycle compliance with standards.
