We are looking to hire two entry-level positions to support our Field Service and Preventive Maintenance teams. While there is an option to hire a high-end programmer, our primary focus is on entry-level candidates.

As a member of the Robotics Service Team, the Robotics Field Service Engineer position has a high impact on corporate revenues and on effectively servicing customers. This person is a primary interface between the customer and the Robotic Service Organization and plays a significant role in shaping the Companys image. The field organization depends greatly on this persons efficient follow-through and communication.

Main Accountabilities:
  1. Perform emergency repairs of robotic system equipment in the field (on-call position).
  2. Provide system integration support for robots to designated build shops and end users.
  3. Perform robot program changes, including logic, software, and path alterations, offline or online.
  4. Perform mechanical repairs or replacements with mechanical aptitude.
  5. Provide informal training on robots or systems to customers as needed.
  6. Have knowledge of PLC communications and robotic peripheral equipment.
  7. Communicate effectively with customers in high-pressure situations and maintain strong relationships.
  8. Be proactive in supporting customer needs.
  9. Identify work activities during slow periods.
  10. Travel on short notice and handle the rigors of air travel.
  11. Submit sales leads for additional robotic and system opportunities.
  12. Communicate work location and status daily.
Challenges:

Interface with Lead Center, Channel Partners, and End Customers; handle demanding customers; meet customer expectations in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education/experience.
  • 2-5+ years of electronic and mechanical experience.
  • Troubleshooting skills through deductive reasoning.
  • Experience in applications like spot welding, arc welding, painting, or sealant applications is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude for repairs or replacements.
  • Knowledge of PLC communications and robotic peripherals.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, especially under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer service experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, analyze issues, and exercise sound judgment.
