#NEW#Intermediate Application Analyst Programmer (JAVA) – 12 Months We are working with a well-established global financial institution seeking an Intermediate Application Analyst Programmer to join its Capital Markets IT division. The team supports a broad range of post-trade applications used globally and is responsible for both project-based development and daily application support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology and finance, and is passionate about resolving complex issues, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with global stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2–3 application support to back-office users, ensuring swift resolution of incidents and service requests. Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and collaborate with development teams for permanent fixes. Participate in production releases, validations, and weekend deployments (on rotation). Monitor daily/monthly batch processes and ensure issues are proactively detected and resolved. Contribute to application improvements, automation efforts, and performance enhancements. Communicate clearly with business users, IT counterparts, and operations teams on ongoing issues and solutions. Participate in knowledge-sharing, user training, and technical documentation updates. Required Skills & Experience 4+ years of experience in application development or production support within banking or financial services. Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and financial products (e.g. bonds, repos, SLB, FX, credit, IRD). Proficiency in Java, PL/SQL, and Linux/Unix environments. Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Python, SQL). Good understanding of confirmation, settlement, accounting, and reconciliation processes. Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to handle pressure in a dynamic environment. Nice to Have Prior experience with back-office trading platforms or capital market systems. Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools such as Control-M, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Prometheus, etc. Exposure to DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker/Kubernetes. Experience with SWIFT messaging and regulatory reporting is a plus.
