The Pasadena Planning & Community Development Department is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Plans Examiner to join the Building & Safety team. Under general supervision, the Plans Examiner reviews construction drawings of architectural, structural, accessibility, energy, CALGreen, grading and drainage, and generally for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans for residential and non-residential buildings. The Plans Examiner is required to prepare comprehensive written plan review comments.
The Building & Safety Division provides plan review and construction inspection services to enforce minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of all buildings and structures.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is an effective team player with facilitative customer service and one who combines technical expertise with superb analytical and organizational skills. The ideal candidate has knowledge in construction design practices, building codes, and plan review documentation.
