We are seeking an experienced Medical Physicist to support our mission in providing top-quality radiation therapy. This is a full-time role with a steady Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for work-life balance while making a meaningful impact.

Summary of Position The medical physicist is responsible for performing and documenting quality assurance, ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in the clinic, and overseeing the scientific and technical aspects of all procedures. Responsibilities include quality control tests, industry standards compliance, treatment planning review, weekly chart review, participation in radiation safety measures, and assisting in the implementation of new technology and equipment. Collaboration with physicians and communication with staff are essential.

Job Responsibilities

Understand all activities of the photon radiation therapy department, including treatment planning, quality assurance, revenue cycle, customer service, and medical staff roles.

QA all planning and therapeutic equipment for accurate radiation dose delivery.

Determine radiation dose distributions in patients, including computerized dosimetry planning and direct radiation measurement.

Maintain records for regulatory agencies such as APEx, NRC, and state authorities.

Design and implement quality management procedures involving external beam radiotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals.

Manage medical physics services to meet or exceed established standards, considering facility size and resources.

Develop and monitor procedures for measuring equipment performance in radiation oncology and theranostics.

Evaluate and implement new technologies, including acceptance testing of new equipment and treatment devices.

Consult with radiation oncologists on patient doses and treatment plan optimization.

Serve as the focal point for machine maintenance and repair.

Proficiently use radiation-measuring equipment, treatment planning computers, and oncology information systems.

Collaborate with the patient care team, including dosimetry, physicians, radiation therapists, and diagnostic imaging.

Collaborate with R&D for innovative oncology product solutions.

Job Specifications Minimum Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral degree in Radiological Physics, Physics, or related discipline.

Certification by the American Board of Radiology or Medical Physics.

At least three years of clinical experience in therapeutic medical physics.

Completion of a clinical medical physics program.

Knowledge of radiation safety principles and current regulations of TDECDRH and NRC.

Extensive knowledge of modern radiation therapy systems and theranostics.

Experience & Skills

Experience with modern treatment planning software, preferably Varian Aria and Eclipse.

Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Strong time management skills.

Teamwork ability.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Mosaiq.

Coding skills such as Python or C++ are a plus.
