Junior Linux System Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: ·
Troubleshoot and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center. ·
Administer OpenShift Container Platform and container Repositories/Registries. ·
Support network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and additional system administrators, to provide high quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer. ·
Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations. ·
Comply with organizational systems administration standard operating procedures ·
Manage accounts and access to Linux systems and equipment ·
Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. ·
Conduct functional, security, and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability of Linux based infrastructure. ·
Support occasional evening and weekend events for the MDA customer. The successful candidate will: ·
Be a strong innovator in process improvement and system design. ·
Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult software problems and provide resolution. ·
Be able to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results. ·
Be able to report to Schriever SFB within 2 hours to support mission surge support events. ·
Have excellent presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with program and government stakeholders. ·
Have a positive, "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high paced and dynamic environment, and embrace change. ·
Take on additional duties that may be necessary to mission success. Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. The selected candidate may be assigned as an employee for one of our teammate companies. Qualifications - External Basic Requirements: ·
Must have 2 years of directly related system administrator experience ·
Must have a recognized active Linux certification (Linux +, RHCSA, LPIC, LFCS) ·
Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Security +, CCNA-Security, CYSA + (formerly CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) ·
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher Desired Requirements: ·
Have a strong understanding of system administration concepts. ·
Have knowledge of Linux system administration. This position is expected to pay
$96,500 - $120,500
annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.
