Inspects and tests vehicles; performs preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and filter replacements. Maintains vehicle functionality by addressing operator complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, and fixing mechanical and electrical malfunctions. Verifies vehicle serviceability through test drives and system adjustments. Ensures compliance with state vehicle requirements through testing engine, safety, and combustion standards. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Records services and repairs in vehicle records. Keeps shop equipment operational by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. Contains costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options. Manages supplies by inventorying, ordering, and verifying receipt. Enhances knowledge through educational opportunities and technical publications. Completes related tasks to support maintenance and organizational goals. Skills and Qualifications
