Senior Tax Manager
Job Brief Our firm, Rikard & Neal CPAs, is seeking a seasoned Senior Tax Manager to work with our Managing Partner and another Senior Tax Manager. The role involves participating in all activity levels of the Firm’s tax business to provide quality and timely tax services to our clients while ensuring profitability and efficient operations of the Firm. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement. Our offices are located in Memphis, TN, and Marion, AR. Responsibilities Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services: Provide a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within specified time frames. Manage various client engagements, including individual and entity clients (small to medium-sized businesses). Advise clients on tax decisions, helping them optimize tax engagements and manage tax burdens and risks. Review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations. Ensure compliance with other requirements such as Sales & Use Tax, Payroll tax, Property tax, and other filings, supervising these obligations. Research and prepare correspondence for relevant taxing authorities, including the IRS and Treasury Department. Review or prepare GAAP financial tax provisions and consolidated federal and state tax returns as needed. Ensure all client advice complies with local, state, and federal tax laws. Stay updated on emerging tax laws and trends. Assist clients during tax audits. Build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating knowledge of their businesses: Respond to client inquiries regarding tax preparation processes. Handle communications with clients and tax authorities. Maintain client confidentiality. Participate in corporate structuring, divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, litigation support, earnings & profit analysis, inventory, and other tax procedures. Collaborate with Senior Management on firm management aspects: Assist with engagement planning, organization, delegation, and efficiency maximization. Support billing, collections, and maintaining profitability. Develop and motivate firm personnel. Other responsibilities include supervising and mentoring tax personnel, providing training, and process improvement. Requirements Minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven experience as a tax manager. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; Master’s in Taxation preferred. CPA certification is required. Company Description Big firm capabilities, small firm personality.
