Job Title: Low Voltage Operations Manager – Construction Department: Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: The Operations Manager – Construction (Low Voltage) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the low voltage construction division. This includes overseeing project delivery, field operations, staffing, scheduling, materials, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards. This role serves as a key liaison between the office and field teams and plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and team performance. Key Responsibilities: Field & Project Operations Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company standards. Manage and coordinate all active low voltage construction projects. Prioritize service requests and allocate resources based on urgency and technician availability. Support project managers and field supervisors with scheduling, resource allocation, and problem resolution. Monitor technician progress throughout the day to ensure jobs stay on schedule. Ensure compliance with design specs, safety regulations, and project timelines. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety practices. Oversee field technicians, superintendents, and monitor performance. Assist with onboarding, training, and development. Monitor workforce productivity and address performance issues. Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular team meetings to review job status, safety protocols, and operational updates. Scheduling & Resource Management Develop and maintain master project schedules across multiple job sites. Coordinate labor and material resources to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and tools. Process Optimization & Reporting Implement and refine operational procedures to improve project delivery and efficiency. Track KPIs such as labor utilization, job costing, project completion rates, and customer satisfaction. Provide regular operational reports to senior leadership with updates on job progress, delays, or challenges. Serve as an operational point of contact for clients. Maintain positive relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and partners to ensure reliability and support. Assist in pre-construction planning and post-project closeouts as needed. Order and track parts, tools, and equipment necessary for ongoing and upcoming jobs. Coordinate deliveries to job sites and manage vendor relationships. Maintain inventory levels and monitor usage to avoid delays in service. Compliance & Safety Enforce adherence to OSHA regulations, NEC standards, and company safety policies. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions where necessary. Ensure all permits, inspections, and documentation are completed accurately and timely. Implement and enforce company procedures and safety standards. Qualifications: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. 10+ years of experience in low voltage systems (e.g., structured cabling, access control, CCTV, Internet Service Provider, and VoIP), with a strong focus on construction operations. Proven leadership experience managing multiple teams and job sites. Deep understanding of low voltage construction practices and codes. Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, BuilderTrend, Simpro, etc…) and Microsoft 365. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
