Position Overview : The Hazmat/Dangerous Goods Specialist ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials across our 3PL operations. This role is responsible for enforcing regulatory requirements, maintaining documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture across the warehouse and shipping environment. Location :

Key Responsibilities : Oversee day-to-day hazmat operations to ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, and OSHA regulations. Prepare, review, and verify all hazardous materials shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping declarations, and packaging requirements. Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all regulated materials. Train warehouse and transportation staff on hazardous materials handling, spill response, and compliance procedures. Conduct internal audits and inspections of hazmat processes and storage areas; address findings through corrective actions. Monitor changes in federal, state, and international dangerous goods regulations and implement operational updates as needed. Coordinate with customers, carriers, and regulatory bodies to ensure accurate classification, labeling, and documentation of hazardous shipments. Lead or support incident investigations involving spills or regulatory breaches. Assist with hazardous waste disposal and documentation in accordance with environmental regulations. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of experience handling hazardous materials in a warehousing or logistics environment. In-depth knowledge of DOT, IATA, IMDG, and OSHA hazmat regulations. Certified Dangerous Goods professional (preferred but not required). Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to conduct training and communicate compliance requirements effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems (WMS).
