The
Assistant Controller
is responsible for overseeing the division’s accounting operations, including monthly close, financial reporting, and the implementation of internal controls. Reporting to the Group Controller or Director of Finance, the
Assistant Controller
ensures compliance with US GAAP and collaborates with operational departments to maintain accurate financial data across the organization. This role supports decision-making by providing reliable financial insights and recommendations. Key Responsibilities
Lead the monthly close process, prepare accurate financial statements, and ensure timely regulatory reporting. The Assistant Controller supervises key accounting functions such as payroll, billing, accounts payable, collections, and budgeting. Coordinate internal and external audits while ensuring adherence to company policies and SOX compliance. Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control procedures to reduce risk and enhance financial accuracy. Collaborate with department heads to align operational procedures with accounting best practices. Provide guidance on financial planning, cash flow forecasting, and investment analysis. The Assistant Controller manages a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship and overseeing performance evaluations. Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or relevant certification preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or Assistant Controller-level role. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. ERP system experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. The ideal Assistant Controller will demonstrate high accountability, accuracy, time management, and problem-solving skills.
