Description

Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are seeking a Manufacturing Strategy Engineer who will develop manufacturing strategies, systems, and continuous improvement processes to support production build success. The strategies will aim to produce high-quality products within budget, fostering sustainable improvements through team engagement and continuous improvement tools.

The selected candidate will exercise independent judgment to adjust priorities, goals, work assignments, methods, procedures, and techniques for successful project facilitation.

This position is on-site at our Tualatin, Oregon location (not remote or hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements Job Responsibilities:

Evaluate and develop engineering plans or work orders to fabricate work aids, fixtures, or other items to assist production in cost reductions for continuous improvement.

Assist in developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to establish baseline performance metrics on key processes.

Support engineering projects by preparing detailed designs from concept designs and specifications, ensuring manufacturability.

Confer with outside firms and staff to resolve manufacturing problems.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs in material usage, ergonomic hazards, and labor requirements.

Improve manufacturing efficiency by identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, delivery, presentation, and practices.

Establish processes to share improvements across locations.

Benchmark key processes to facilitate best practices.

Coordinate and develop communications to share change results and improvements across locations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

Lead group activities across various departments, driving participation and commitment from all levels.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience

At least five years in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibilities if holding a degree; seven years if not.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Proficient in engineering software, CAD/CAM, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Experience with work specifications, blueprints, contracts, and technical publications.

Understanding of Materials Requirement Planning, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Knowledge of working with various metals and materials.

Experience managing continuous improvement projects involving asset acquisition and ROI justification.

Skilled in costing activities for capital and business case analysis.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Working Environment

Work in a dynamic, fast-paced office with moderate noise levels. Safety gear provided as needed. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Compensation / Benefits

$90,000 to $110,000 annually, DOE
