Job Overview TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products based on input from marketing, customers, Operations Teams, Development Engineers, or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications, consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality and cost, while meeting customer requirements. They may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer needs. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
Responsibilities Power Responsible for being the FAE product expert for power connectors, bus bars, and cable assemblies, from market definition through production and release. Must have complete knowledge of the Global Product Line (GPL) portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.

Responsible for being the FAE product expert for Internal Connector and Cable Assemblies, from market definition through production and release. Must have complete knowledge of the GPL portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.
Responsible for developing high-speed cable assembly, power connector, and power cable assembly solutions from market definition through production and release.
Work closely with customers and TE teams to gather VOC and translate it into design specifications.
Conceive concepts and perform feasibility studies.
Run mechanical and thermal simulations.
Make engineering evaluations and proposals to customers.
Create detailed designs, including 2D/3D drawings, and perform DFMEA/tolerance analysis.
Build prototypes and validate them.
Provide technical support to Operations, Quality, and Production teams for efficiency and safe launch.
Resolve product issues and manage ECN/PCN processes.
Understand market and customer needs to bridge business engineering and customer engineering teams.
Maintain system-level understanding of customer applications and product designs.
Support customers, sales, PM, and plant teams with technical expertise.
Collaborate with manufacturing resources, procurement, and suppliers to meet technical, quality, and cost goals.
Document designs, changes, and maintain design history files.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with electrical components, device design, tooling development, or manufacturing processes.
Knowledge in socket and connector design, or related mechanical design.
Familiarity with switch and server equipment.
Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and product qualification.
Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., ProE, Spaceclaim).
Basic knowledge of raw materials, industry standards, and product applications.
Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, stamping, plating, assembly).
Experience with quality tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D).
Ability to work across global teams and time zones.
Open-minded, eager to learn, and motivated for growth.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $86,100 - $129,200, depending on location and experience.
Total compensation includes base salary, incentives, and benefits.
