Description Leidos is seeking an experienced software architect to join our National Security Sector (NSS) software organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in establishing and driving technical standards for our software development activities. These standards encompass development patterns, technology stacks, processes, and software metrics, ensuring consistency in mission software delivery across NSS. You will collaborate with the Software Center Team, including the Chief Architect, Office of Technology (OOT), and Line leaders to achieve this goal. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in software development programs supporting national security clients within classified settings. You should possess a diverse technical background that includes mission software development, secure coding practices, software architecture, DevOps, cloud technologies, and software validation. This role requires a proactive technical leader ready to tackle complex challenges while also setting a compelling technology vision to drive business growth. Sharing best practices and developing documentation for effective solutions is a key focus of this position. Primary Responsibilities Collaborate with the Software Center team and program leaders to identify technology and solution roadmaps that position Leidos as a preferred provider of mission software in the National Security domain. Establish best practices, capture lessons learned, and develop technological methods for software development throughout the Sector. Define and continuously enhance the NSS Way of software development, applicable to all programs and internal initiatives. Ensure software-related proposals and projects adhere to prescribed approaches or have documented and sanctioned deviation plans. Work with the Software Center team to establish key performance indicators for software development activities. Identify opportunities to leverage technology and innovation to enhance program capabilities across business lines. Assist in creating analytical tools and data pipelines to support Software Center reporting functions, using AWS services and Python ETL scripts. Engage in hands-on development within Software Center initiatives, focusing on cloud architecture and DevOps practices. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Science, Engineering, or Technology discipline and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Experience may substitute for a degree. US citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance. Recent experience in the National Security field, such as the Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Department of Defense, with a solid understanding of their operational environments. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a capacity to engage effectively at various organizational levels. Capability to mentor, lead, and develop talent. Reside in the Washington Metropolitan Area and be able to travel to customer sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Scaled Agile Development methodologies. Active TS/SCI security clearance. Membership in the Leidos Solution Architect program. Proven leadership experience across the Software Development Lifecycle. $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 The Leidos pay range for this role is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors that may affect the offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, and applicable laws.
