Duties / Responsibilities : Estimating & Bid Management Lead the preparation of accurate, detailed estimates and bid proposals for both public and private projects. Analyze landscape construction drawings and specs for constructability and pricing strategy. Perform quantity take-offs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns. Oversee and review estimates developed by junior team members. Ensure all proposals meet compliance standards and profitability goals. Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Request, evaluate, and negotiate competitive pricing from vendors and subs. Keep cost data and pricing libraries up to date with current market trends. Team Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and mentor the estimating team, fostering a high-performance culture. Work closely with project management, accounting, and sales to ensure seamless project handoffs. Participate in pre-construction planning and internal strategy sessions. Process Improvement & Reporting Create, maintain, and enhance estimating templates, procedures, and historical cost data. Track bid outcomes, analyze trends, and report metrics to senior leadership. Continuously improve estimating efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of estimating experience in landscape or general construction. Proven success in estimating and securing commercial and public works projects. Experience managing full-cycle bids and mentoring junior estimators. Associate or bachelors degree preferred (or equivalent experience). Experience with prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon projects is a plus. Strong blueprint reading skills especially with grading, irrigation, planting, and hardscape. Proficiency in Bluebeam, OST, and MS Excel.
