Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Duties

Maintain productivity at the established level utilizing recommended Central Office Relative Value Unit (RVU) requirements. Patient care:
Perform oral examinations, intra- and extraoral radiographs, biopsies, cultures, cytologic smears, admission histories and physical examinations, craniofacial analysis, and manage infections surgically and nonsurgically. Conduct surgeries of erupted and nonerupted teeth, repair oral soft tissue lacerations, and treat benign and malignant tumors and cysts, including cryosurgery. Manage oral manifestations of systemic diseases, perform minor tooth movements, guided tissue regeneration, vestibuloplasty, frenectomy, mucogingival surgery, and surgeries of the maxillofacial complex and neck. Other procedures include lip surgery, tracheostomy, injury repair, implant placement, salivary gland surgery, osteotomies, and cleft repairs. Administer local/topical anesthesia, nerve blocks, and analgesia. Leadership:
Serve as Program Manager of the oral surgery section, providing leadership, training, and guidance to GPR and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residents. Offer specialty consultation, ensure departmental orientation, act as SME for community care plans, and coordinate with other services. Assist in survey readiness and safety goal compliance. Work Schedule:
24 hours per week, Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday, 08:00 am - 04:30 pm. Telework not authorized; this is not a virtual position. Additional details:
No relocation/recruitment incentives; EDRP authorized; position may be eligible for the Physician/Provider Contract Buy Out Program in rural facilities for a minimum of 4 years.
