This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). $250,000 - $260,000 yearly, commensurate with experience Overview :

The Psychiatric Provider / Psychiatrist will deliver high-quality psychiatric services, collaborating with medical staff, the Associate Psychiatric Director, and the Chief Psychiatric Officer. Core responsibilities include psychiatric assessments, medication management, crisis intervention, and participation in care planning. Knowledge of NY OMH regulations and oversight of assessments and treatment plans are required. This position involves three days of clinical care and two administrative days, which can be remote, focused on supervision, consultation, and system planning. Responsibilities : Provide and monitor psychiatric services, ensuring coordinated care. Collaborate on developing integrated behavioral health models. Conduct evaluations, medication management, crisis interventions, and treatment planning. Prescribe and coordinate psychotropic medications with primary care providers. Guide staff on psychiatric assessments and client dispositions. Coordinate hospitalizations with the care team. Participate in team meetings, discharge planning, and care coordination, including OMH and OASAS issues. Review and approve assessments and treatment plans with the Chief Psychiatric Officer. Conduct staff training and academic presentations. Liaise with external mental health agencies and internal departments. Ability to treat individuals with SUD using Harm Reduction philosophy. Flexible for extended hours. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements MD or DO with current New York State medical license. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Familiarity with OMH regulations. Experience in psychiatric care of individuals with HIV/AIDS is preferred. Desirable eligibility for: Subspecialty certification in Addiction Psychiatry (ABMS / ASAM) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Board Certification
