Responsibilities
Leadership
Ensure the design intent by the Project Designer is incorporated into detailed documentation.
Monitor the design process from concept to construction, ensuring consistency and proper execution.
Handle technical resolution and coordination for project segments.
Collaborate with Specification Writer to develop specifications and coordinate drawings and specs.
Review reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
Define document production strategies and data organization, including BIM elements.
Manage project software parameters and standards.
Maintain collaborative relationships with the Project Leadership Team.
Coordinate with disciplines, vendors, and contractors to meet project requirements.
Ensure documentation conforms to quality standards.
Supervise preparation of technical drawings by junior staff.
Lead certain projects as team leader.
Mentor less experienced staff and participate in professional development.
Promote sustainable work practices and a green workplace.
Commit to excellent client service.
Client Interface
Build trust with client leadership.
Communicate regularly with client representatives on project progress and requirements.
Teamwork
Receive project direction from Principal in Charge and Technical direction from RBU Technical Principal.
Track and share electronic documentation with team and stakeholders.
Assist in planning and modifying work to complete drawings.
Coordinate with municipal and regulatory agencies.
Communicate changes and resolutions with consultants and vendors.
Provide technical support and project updates.
Participate in site visits, reviews, and meetings.
Assist in product research and material selection.
Contribute to specification setup, drawing coordination, and standard use.
Support team members in specific expertise areas.
Participate in project issue resolution, scheduling, and technical discussions.
Review project costs and schedules.
Document meetings and coordination efforts.
Prepare design drawings and models for review.
Integrate sustainable design solutions into projects.
Business Development
Participate in meetings to identify new project and client opportunities.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent; Master's preferred.
10+ years of design experience.
Licensed Architect with current registration; NCARB registration preferred.
LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
Other
Travel and overtime may be required.
