Washington University invites applications for multiple endowed professorships from tenured faculty whose research and teaching engage with the principles of classical liberalism, including the rule of law, free markets, regulatory reform, and government accountability. We seek scholars with a strong record of rigorous research, employing advanced doctrinal or empirical methods to explore fundamental questions related to democratic governance, private ordering, individual liberties, economic regulation, and the institutional foundations of a free society. This search is open to tenured scholars across disciplines, including but not limited to law, economics, political science, sociology, philosophy, and business. Appointments will be made at the rank of Full Professor and begin as early as the spring semester of 2026.
For a law appointment, a JD (or the equivalent international credential), JSD, or Ph.D is required at the time of appointment. Duties will include teaching assigned courses, conducting research, writing for publication, advising students, participating in department governance, and university service.
