Hood River County School District is seeking to fill an Elementary Principal position, beginning July 1, 2023, for the 2023/24 school year. This is a Regular position, budgeted at 220 days per school year. Application Process:

General Position Overview

The school Principal serves as the educational leader responsible for development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive program of educational and student services. Administers the program in accordance with board policies, statutory requirements, and district leadership direction. The Principal will ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school and Hood River County School District. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leads and promotes educational equity based on the principle that each student receives what is required for them to achieve success. Leads teacher participation in discussions regarding instruction, staff development, budget, and other programs. Demonstrates instructional leadership through regular classroom visits. Facilitates communication between personnel, students, and parents. Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students and parents. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support. Supports staff in maintaining overall school site operation. Leads School Improvement efforts with Site Council and staff. Utilizes data to measure the school’s success in meeting student expectations. Hires, supervises, and evaluates licensed and classified staff in school. Develops budgets; monitors spending for the purpose of achieving program objectives efficiently. Qualifications

Oregon Administrative Licensure. Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance. Masters or Doctorate Degree in either Education or Administration. Administrative experience at the building level preferred. Must have demonstrated experience working independently. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing in English (and in Spanish, preferred). Ability to proficiently use MS Word, Excel, email internet applications, and social media. Required Testing
