The Process Safety Manager position will be responsible for implementation and continual improvement of the site process safety management strategy and leads a team of process safety professionals who help to execute and audit against this strategy. This position coordinates Process Safety Management (PSM) and Property Protection (PP) efforts at the site, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and PSM/Risk Management Program (RMP) audits. This position will provide technical expertise to operating units to help evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve PS/PP issues, including recommendations from PHAs, audits, and incident investigations. The Process Safety Manager will serve on PHA teams, facilitate LOPAs, develop procedures, lead/participate in incident investigations and safety training, interact with operations and maintenance and interface with external and internal regulatory bodies
Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for managing, coaching, and mentoring a team of process safety professionals in support of Freeport LNG’s safe operations.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Process Safety Management Program.
Effectively manage the following PSM programs, at a minimum; PHA/LOPA, MOC, PSSR, Risk Assessment, and Incident Investigation.
Provide training to employees and contractors (as required) to assure understanding and compliance Process Safety requirements. Influences all employees to align with our process safety culture.
Develop, track, and report Process Safety KPIs.
Ensures high-quality execution of process hazard analyses and revalidations for the facility and business enterprises using internal or external resources.
Ensures high-quality execution of task-based risk assessments for execution of non-standard field tasks.
Maintains the incident investigation program for the facility.
Evaluates and uses qualitative and single-event quantitative analysis to determine any consequences from accidental releases.
Provides project input concerning process and personnel safety requirements included in generally accepted engineering standards such as NFPA, ASME, API, and CGA.
Reviews and audits modifications to the facility to ensure they follow OSHA Process Safety Management guidelines.
Ensures the health and facilitation of the MOC process and supports maintenance of Process Safety Information.
Track and follow-up action items with timely completion; addressing findings from PSM audits, PHA studies, and other PSM or RMP assessment activities.
Participate in select Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) prior to startup of new or modified processes or equipment or after extended shutdown of equipment. Periodically review site PSSRs for quality and completeness.
Capable of using good analytical problem-solving skills, including facilitating and articulating root cause analysis.
Effectively introduce new processes to the organization with training and communication to key stakeholders.
Responsible for creating facility’sProcess Safety competency program and increases Process Safety awareness and fluency throughout the facility
Directing PSM departmental responsibilities such as facility siting, process safety metrics compilation and reporting, PSM training, and facility risk register tracking and reporting
Essential Functions

Assist and support Liquefaction and Pretreatment operations, Engineering, Production and Maintenance Managers and Site Superintendents to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facilities.
Periodic reporting to executive management and stakeholders on the above activities.
Develop, recommend, track, and implement improvement actions to enhance Freeport LNG’s PSM programs.
Strong and accurate verbal, written and presentation communications skills.

Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions. Play an active role in fostering a disciplined process safety management culture.
