AVP, Business Risk Process Analyst (hybrid) NY/NJ - Commercial Real Estate

Overview
This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office located in New York or New Jersey. The AVP, Business Process Analyst will serve as business & operations subject matter experts (SME) for the Commercial Finance Division within FCB’s Commercial Bank. The individual will be accountable for driving the implementation and execution of First Line of Defense Business (FLOD) business processes, ensuring processes & operational controls meet risk and regulatory obligations. Will support Commercial Finance execution teams with the implementation and ongoing execution of risk and control activities, including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA); issue & audit management; control & compliance testing.
Responsibilities
FLOD Risk Strategic Activities
– Works with Sr. Business Process Risk Manager (BPRM) and Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Commercial Finance to help implement risk management strategies ensuring key risks are appropriately managed and aligned. Provides BU risk considerations for business/strategic plans. Supports review of risk program outputs, ensuring bank and regulatory alignment. FLOD Risk Program Implementation
– Supports the implementation and maintenance of the execution channel’s risk management framework, policies, and procedures. Maintains sufficient knowledge of business operations, risks, controls, and related laws and regulatory guidance. Participates in mandatory risk training and educates BU associates on key risk programs and topics. Ensures that risks are identified, escalated, and mitigated in a timely manner. Coordinates with other functions (i.e. Compliance, 2LOD) to ensure alignment with broader risk management and governance objectives. FLOD Risk Governance & Reporting
– Supports the CUO with preparation, coordination, and delivery of relevant FLOD risk governance group meetings and forums. Assists forum secretary with pre-planning activities like calendar scheduling, report collection and assembly, agenda formation, meeting administration such as attendance, tracking of motions by voting members, minute taking, and follow-up log item resolution, including prep of any escalation items. Provides feedback and coordinates on relevant governance documents to support BU activities and manage risk. Assists with the implementation of program policies, standards, and procedures. Monitors and ensures the incorporation of Risk Limits into core BU processes. Internal Assurance & Regulatory Engagement
– May assist with the preparation for external examinations and internal audits and provide materials as directed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in risk management OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in risk management. Preferred: 5+ years operational, strategic, and reputational risk management experience at a leading financial institution. Working with or supporting Commercial Real Estate departments. Experience identifying reputational, strategic, compliance, technology, and operational risks. Experience assessing the adequacy of controls and recommending controls. Experience developing presentations and presenting to Senior Leadership or Committees. If hired in New York or New Jersey, the base pay for this position is generally between $100,000.00 and $140,000.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
