GFT is seeking a Senior Water Resources / Hydraulics Engineer to join our Transportation team in Raleigh!
This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Raleigh office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Water Resources / Hydraulics Engineer. You will oversee design teams, monitor progress, and provide guidance, ensuring the final check and accuracy of design deliverables. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in supervising and coordinating civil engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications. Responsibilities include: Assigning work tasks and guiding team members focused on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm sewer analysis, stormwater engineering design, master drainage planning, groundwater analyses, and related projects. Preparing stormwater management plans and reports. Developing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, BMPs, erosion control plans, and other civil infrastructure designs. Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using techniques and models such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, etc. Preparing flood study narratives and watershed reports. Overseeing project teams and managing client relationships. What you will bring to our firm:
B.S. Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field), with emphasis in water resources. 8-15 years of water resources-related experience. Registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina. What we prefer you bring:
Knowledge of Wetland and Stream permitting requirements for NCDOT. Experience developing stormwater management plans for NCDOT projects. Strong knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulics. Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HY-8, ArcGIS, GeoPak; StormCAD knowledge is a plus. NCDOT Erosion Control Certification is preferred. Excellent client interaction and teamwork skills. Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000, dependent on experience and location. Featured Benefits:
