What will you be doing at Ather:

Ensure the installation, qualification, and maintenance of the SPMs, fixtures at the supplier site related to components, box build assemblies & harnesses in accordance with Ather standards to ensure smooth assembly processes.

Work with vendors to communicate requirements, review designs, and oversee equipment building at vendor locations.

Publish results of DOEs and special builds conducted.

Travel to supplier sites or Ather factory as required.

Apply knowledge of special processes such as gluing, sealing, potting.

Develop prototypes and specify tooling requirements for wire harness assembly.

Clear DFA & technical concerns for wire harness assembly.

Prepare and share the SOR for EOL requirements in new wire harness designs.

Possess basic understanding of wire charts, electrical schematics, BOMs, and hands-on experience with wiring harness processes like wire cutting & stripping, crimping, soldering, harness assembly, and functional testing.

Understand the design & layout of wiring harness manufacturing & assembly lines, including layout board design feasibility.

Know about harness components such as wire materials, extrusion processes, connectors, terminals, copper strands, anti-capillary cables, overmolding, etc.

Be familiar with crimp performance standards like SAE/USCAR-21.

Perform cycle time calculations, identify bottlenecks, and suggest mitigations.

Here’s what we are looking for: Domain Skills:

Understanding assembly instructions & CTQ requirements for box builds.

Handling child components of box builds & basic understanding of PCBA processes.

Knowledge of harness assemblies and their components.

Experience with CAD files, IP standards.

Familiarity with IATF 16949/ISO 9001, MSA, SPC, calibration practices, PPAP.

Tools:

AutoCAD, SolidWorks

Knowledge of Capital Software for wiring harness & form board drawing design is a plus.

What you bring to Ather:

Diploma / B.E or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Mechanical engineering.

8-12 years of relevant experience in NPI activities for module & harness development in automotive, industrial, or portable consumer electronics domains.
