THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
Position Description:
Implements the SOCS Safety, Health and Quality Assurance (QA) Program, Emergency Response Procedures, and Environmental Policy, including Energy and Water Conservation directives. Ensures a strong safety culture throughout the workforce, including managers at all levels. Manages the continuous improvement program. Supports NASA VPP Star Status. Ensures the Zero Harm Program is maintained. Performs assessments on Reliability and QA implementation. Verifies compliance with LCAT. Manages the day-to-day operations of a segment of the organization or contract's functional area and may assist in program management responsibilities. Duties include formulating and enforcing work standards, managing daily operations, establishing policies and work rules, monitoring activities, and planning resource use. Responsible for personnel productivity, performance, and safety.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental, industrial, safety and health, or a related field, with 6 years in a lead or supervisory role. The degree may be substituted with a high school diploma or equivalent plus at least 4 years of relevant experience. Note: This experience is in addition to the minimum experience requirement. Certifications such as OSHA 30, Emergency Medical Training, and ICS are required.
15+ years of related operational/industrial safety experience in heavy infrastructure. Proven hurricane and disaster preparation and response capabilities. Demonstrates a people-first/safety-first mindset. Ability to create an open and collaborative safety environment free of fear and intimidation.
