Senior Technical Baker
with a strong foundation in baking science and production techniques. The
Senior Technical Baker
position combines deep baking expertise with advanced knowledge of industrial production systems, product innovation, and process optimization. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement across product quality, consistency, and manufacturing efficiency, while supporting cross-functional teams in scaling up and commercializing new baked goods. The Senior Technical Baker will be responsible for scaling recipes, optimizing baking methods, and ensuring product consistency, quality, and efficiency across all baked goods. Essential Functions: Process Optimization Analyze production data and line performance to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Standardize formulations and procedures across plants for consistency and cost control. Optimize ingredient use, process parameters, and oven profiles to meet output and quality targets. Product & Quality Oversight Establish and maintain product specifications, tolerances, and quality attributes for all baked items. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and customer standards. Troubleshoot product deviations and implement sustainable solutions. Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain. Lead pilot trials, plant scale-ups, and technical validations for new and modified products. Manage technical documentation and lead training for operations and production teams. Position Requirements Degree in Baking Science, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field preferred. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in industrial baking/large-scale production. Strong understanding of thermal processes, dough rheology, and bakery systems. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Experience working with automated bakery lines. Familiarity with ERP and production. Industry leading understanding of ingredient functionality, product evaluation, health and nutrition, food manufacturing processes, microbiology, and market research practices. Expert in fermentation, dough development, and ingredient functionality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Possess people skills with the ability to communicate through training and on-the-floor validation/coaching of general food safety practices. Capable of working well with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting to achieve company goals. Works well in high pressure situations to meet company deadlines. Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule that may require occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions There is exposure to extreme temperatures (cold and hot). There is exposure to dust and food allergens. Personal protective Equipment is available upon request but is not required for this position. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. frequently. All machines are equipped with Protective guards. All safety protocols and GMP’s must be followed. Skills Critical Thinking

The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
