JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Role Summary The Estimating Manager will prepare cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals, develop more economical ways to construct projects, and provide comprehensive deliverables for major estimates. This position will be responsible for applying JE Dunn processes and tools to develop project estimates. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.

Reads and outlines project specifications.

Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.

Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination.

Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors.

Works collaboratively and creates relationships with project team members, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

Gains self-perform estimating experience.

Gains field operational exposure through onsite project support, as opportunities exist.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:

Prepares complex cost estimates for bids and proposals.

Prepares material and other costs summary for quotes from vendors.

Tracks value creation items and documents in project files.

Develops scopes of work for all trades, including responsibility matrix, plans, specifications, and pricing.

Uses project schedule and logistics knowledge in estimates.

Assists with analysis of building components and MEP systems.

Coordinates bid summaries, general requirements, and procurement presentations.

Collaborates with operations to find economical construction methods during preconstruction.

Provides professional deliverables at each major estimate.

Improves profitability by understanding insurance and rates.

Provides training and mentorship to team members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Accurate and complete work in a timely manner.

Effective communication skills, verbal and written.

Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

Ability to read drawings and specifications.

Proficiency in estimating software.

Knowledge of construction methods and field operations.

Ability to develop quantity surveys and estimates.

Knowledge of Lean processes.

Ability to collaborate and build relationships.

Education

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

Equivalent relevant experience considered.

Experience

3+ years estimating experience.

Preference for total of 5+ years construction experience.

Working Environment

Valid driver's license required.

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

May require overnight travel.

Willing to work non-traditional hours.

Office environment with possible extreme conditions.

Frequent sitting; occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.
