Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced

Senior Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor

to provide commercial management, cost control, and estimating services for a global technology client’s large-scale data center construction program. This role requires excellent communication skills and comfort in a client-facing environment. Responsibilities

Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle. Providing estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting final cost plans. Reviewing and collaborating with design teams and general contractors on cost estimates. Reconciling changes and ensuring data accuracy with the general contractor. Communicating with project stakeholders to gather information and update cost estimates. Preparing comments on contractor submissions and executive summaries. Coordinating cost information from various sources for discussions and procurement. Driving engineering priorities based on cost impacts. Managing cost checks, valuations, and post-contract variances. Tracking cost impacts, contingencies, and commitments. Preparing funding presentations and facilitating value engineering sessions. Adhering to SOX controls where applicable. Qualifications

Hybrid role with some onsite requirements. Strong experience in post-contract and change order management. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 6 years in cost management and quantity surveying, preferably with large data centers or similar projects. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. PQS or MRICS accreditation is a plus. Proficiency with cost management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Sage). Deep knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and risk management. Understanding of data center design, MEP systems, and structural elements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
