Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Health Programs Position Summary: Veterinary Clinical Pathologist The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications from motivated individuals to join our team of six clinical pathology faculty and three residents within the Department of Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation (PDI) and Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL). The appointment will be in the Health Programs (HP) Faculty Appointment System (clinical track). The successful applicant will be expected to enhance the service, education, and research missions of the CVM and VDL. Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree as well as board certification or eligibility by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP or ECVP). Cultural and social competence and excellent written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences, are required. The main focus of this position is diagnostic service, including resident training while on service. Therefore, the appointed individual must have a strong commitment to and history of providing outstanding professional diagnostic service through clinical pathology services for the CVM Veterinary Medical Center (VMC), as well as private veterinary general practitioners, specialty clinics, and other MSU VDL clients. A secondary focus of this position is the development of new assays and support towards the diagnostic mission of the clinical pathology section and the MSU VDL. Responsibilities: Participate in preclinical and/or clinical instruction of DVM students. Advise, mentor, and train pathology residents and graduate students. Engage in scholarly activities, including presentations at local, regional, and national meetings, collaborative research, and publications. Participate in laboratory test development and innovation.
