Job Summary
The Team Lead will oversee daily contractor maintenance operations in support of the MV-22 Osprey at VMMT-204, the Marine Corps Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) located at MCAS New River. This role is responsible for the direction, oversight, and delivery of technical, maintenance, and administrative support, ensuring mission readiness and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Acts as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical and program/project issues. Provide daily supervision, accountability, and task direction for all contractor personnel supporting MV-22 maintenance activities. Coordinate with ACET Project Management Offices for all required items to successfully execute the contracted effort Coordinate execution of scheduled inspections, discrepancy correction, and aircraft servicing in alignment with flight training schedules. Oversee accurate and timely documentation in NALCOMIS/OOMA and ASM, ensuring full compliance with NAMP standards. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of NAVAIRINST 3710.1G and CNAFINST 4790.2_series Provide mentorship to junior contractor personnel and assist in On-the-Job Training (OJT) for government maintainers when directed. Identify staffing or resource issues and escalate concerns to the Program Manager or Operations Manager with recommended mitigation. Attend local Job/career fairs as required to recruiting and staff qualified candidates for the contracted efforts Maintain shift coverage schedules and ensure continuity of operations during leave or surge periods. Screens all prospective employees to assure they possess the necessary qualifications before extending employment offers. Works with the Aerospace Quality Assurance Manager for GOP’s implementation and any compliance issues on site Works with the EH&S Manager for compliance, safety training and OSHA compliance Prepare and brief progress, goals, risks, and milestones to corporate level executives when required, as it relates to the site contracted efforts Coordinate with Government personnel, including Maintenance Control, QA, and CORs. Lead teams, manage workload distribution, and maintain technical standards under a fast-paced training environment.
Required Experience
Minimum of 15 years of aviation maintenance experience Minimum of 5 years of military aviation Maintenance Control or Quality Assurance (QA) experience. Capable of notifying and coordinating daily with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Extensive knowledge of MV-22 Osprey systems and maintenance procedures. Exceptional working knowledge of NAMP (COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2), NALCOMIS/OOMA, and ASM. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Pass a background check Must be able to obtain and maintain a Comon Access Card
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in developing and providing contractor availability and non-availability schedules to the COR to identify any gaps in qualifications during shifts. Prior experience supporting a USMC Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) or training squadron. Prior Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) on MV-22 or similar platform. Experience with DECKPLATE, TDRS, or Naval Aviation reporting systems.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed. Must be able to climb on ladders if needed. Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs. Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions. Position may require working in a confined workspace. Position may require use/exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents. Position is in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar/flightline environment. FIT for Duty Physical is required. May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
