Position Overview
Join us in supporting the development, advancement, and sustainment of weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will work with a team experienced in environments including ground, near-space, space, and related systems to meet current and future strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD). QinetiQ collaborates with USSF and DoD to design, develop, deploy, and maintain critical national security requirements.
We are seeking a Senior Acquisition Specialist in Huntsville, AL. The role involves supporting acquisition processes for successful program management, particularly with highly classified ACAT-like MILSATCOM systems aimed at fulfilling space and software requirements, and coordinating with higher headquarters on mission objectives.
Responsibilities
Support all stages of the acquisition lifecycle, including efforts for advanced technology, future concepts, and integration activities.
Draft and revise JCIDS and acquisition documentation; produce internal/external products such as Acquisition Strategies, Analysis of Alternatives, and Defense Acquisition Board documentation.
Identify process improvements and provide actionable recommendations to reduce risk.
Perform earned value management and schedule analysis; support PPBE processes.
Monitor program schedules, acquisition implementation, report shortfalls, and assess risks.
Advise the Government program manager on technical engagements, including meetings, reviews, and conferences.
Review and analyze packages like Contract Performance Reports and Work Breakdown Structures.
Assist with source selection execution, develop documentation, and review proposal evaluations.
Maintain and analyze acquisition forecasts incorporating force design, operational needs, and priorities.
Required Qualifications
Expertise in acquiring highly classified ACAT-like MILSATCOM systems.
Experience supporting ACAT-like Defense Acquisition Boards (DABs).
Proven ability to develop and coordinate activities/documentation for major ACAT-like programs.
Deep knowledge in evaluating technical solicitation products and ensuring technical rigor and compliance.
Strong understanding of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.
Experience supporting acquisition programs.
MA/MS degree.
TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command.
MS Suite certification(s).
