Job Summary The Director of Harry Winston workshop will oversee all handmade jewelry items from conception to finished good. The Director is responsible for the leadership, management, and development of workshop craftsmen and administrative staff. The workshop director also plays a key role in ensuring the success of the workshop while maintaining the utmost quality of luxury jewelry. Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities Management of all projects, ensuring deadlines are met and jewelry is executed per design specifications and quality assurance guidelines. Planning and development of all models and finished goods. Design and establish SOPs to produce products, design issues, and provide solutions. Estimates on new projects and adjust workflow as needed. Provide suggestions for process improvements. Key performance indicators and set appropriate targets. Analyze workshop performance data to identify areas of improvements. Reports of production output findings. On-boarding training to new hires. Promote technology enhancements for best manufacturing practices. Day-to-day operations including but not limited to procedures and maintenance of vault operations, service of oxygen tank, gas boosters, laser welders, washout rooms, machinery, rolling mills, laser engravers, and 3D printers. Approve ordering of raw materials. Job Relationships Internal : Work with Manufacturing team including production manager, foreman, craftsman, CAD team; Product Development; Gemstone Acquisition; Quality Assurance and other departments as needed. External : Work with casters, refiners, finding houses, and other supporting vendors. Job Qualifications Former project management experience is a must. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Hands-on and pragmatic decision-maker. Minimum 15 years of jewelry manufacturing experience. Must know how to use a microscope. Must have knowledge of laser welder and engraver. Formal bench training, including Platinum and 18kt gold. CAD and model making experience. Ability and expertise to handle unique and high-value stones. Industry experience including Quality Assurance; Diamond and Gemstone grading. Working knowledge of Rhino or similar CAD software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Seniority level
