Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking experienced faculty for its new Masters in Applied Biomedical Science Program, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI). This program prepares students with technical, ethical, and clinical expertise to advance AI in healthcare and medical research. The faculty member will support program administration, collaborate with faculty, researchers, and industry partners, and ensure students receive a rigorous, innovative education. Responsibilities
Develop and execute the program vision in collaboration with the Director. Design learning outcomes reflecting AI's evolving role in healthcare. Ensure high-quality instruction, mentorship, and student engagement. Support accreditation and compliance processes. Lead development of a proposed Center for Medical Artificial Intelligence. Build partnerships with healthcare and tech industries for student opportunities. Promote interdisciplinary research and innovation in AI and medicine. Facilitate lectures, workshops, and industry networking events. Support AI research initiatives and secure funding. Mentor students in their academic and career development. This position is located in Conroe at the new College of Osteopathic Medicine facility. Qualifications
Ph.D., DO, MD, or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Medicine). Extensive experience applying AI technologies to healthcare, including diagnostic imaging, robotics, molecular analysis, and wearable health devices. Knowledge of ethical, regulatory, and clinical considerations in healthcare AI. Experience in academic program development, grant writing, and research. Ability to develop online/hybrid learning environments. Understanding of healthcare AI policy frameworks. Additional Requirements
