About the Cancer Center The St. Charles Cancer Center, located in Bend and Redmond, offers a full range of services for cancer patients and is accredited by both the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Our multidisciplinary team approach ensures every patient benefits from coordinated, integrated care from diagnosis through survivorship. Position Overview The medical oncologist will provide comprehensive oncology care including diagnosis, systemic therapy, care coordination, and supportive care for adult patients across a wide range of cancer types. You will work in close collaboration with radiation oncologists, surgeons, palliative care, and other specialists to deliver outstanding care throughout the cancer journey. Work schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Locations: St. Charles Cancer Centers in Bend and Redmond Call rotation: Shared call schedule among oncology team members Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat oncology patients using evidence-based care models Prescribe systemic therapies and manage side effects in collaboration with supportive care services Develop individualized treatment plans that align with patient goals and values Participate in clinical trials and contribute to research and innovation in cancer care Supervise advanced practice providers as needed Collaborate with the interdisciplinary cancer team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care Maintain clear, timely documentation in the Epic EMR system Serve as a leader in promoting quality, safety, and an exceptional patient experience Participate in departmental meetings, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives Education and Training Graduation from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency Fellowship training in hematology and oncology Licensure and Certifications Current and unrestricted Oregon MD or DO license (or ability to obtain) Board certified or board eligible in medical oncology (board certification required within 7 years of fellowship completion) Unrestricted DEA license Current BLS certification; ACLS required if administering sedation Eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid Experience Prior experience providing care in both inpatient and outpatient oncology settings Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Epic Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Strong commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork and patient advocacy Preferred Two or more years of active oncology practice Why Choose St. Charles Health System Join a highly respected, mission-driven health system Work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team in a nationally accredited cancer program Enjoy competitive compensation, generous CME support, relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package Access to robust clinical support, advanced technologies, and clinical trial participation Opportunities for leadership, program development, and research Live and Work in Central Oregon Located on the sunny side of the Cascade Mountains, Bend and Redmond offer stunning natural beauty, endless outdoor activities, and a vibrant, family-friendly community.
