Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatrist to join our dedicated mental health team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to children and adolescents, This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with various mental health conditions, with a focus on delivering high-quality care to individuals across the age children and adolescent age group (ages 6-14).

Requirements:

Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida. Valid DEA License, Medicaid Provider ID and National Provider Identifier (NPI). Minimum of 3 years’ experience diagnosing and treating serious emotional disturbances in children and adolescents. Experience in providing psychiatric care in a residential settings, particularly with inpatient populations. Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques and mental health counseling practices. Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Knowledge of PTSD care methodologies is an asset. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Commitment to providing compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans. Provide medication management to patients in an inpatient residential setting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients, including those with various mental health diagnoses, including PTSD. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Engage in continuous education and professional development to stay current with advancements in psychiatric practices. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Care & Patient Services

Provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical services, including:

Psychiatric evaluations and assessments. Medication consultation, prescription, and weekly follow-up. Monitor and manage side effects of psychotropic medications. Order, review, and follow up on laboratory tests as clinically indicated. Write and manage prescriptions, both electronically and on paper as required. Document psychiatric progress notes, detailing rationale for medications prescribed or discontinued. Referral to external providers or emergency services as needed. Participation in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Routine case review and clinical documentation. Educate children, parents, and/or caregivers on the indications, usage, and side effects of prescribed medications. Provide verbal medication orders to the Nurse Manager or designee when necessary. Documentation & Compliance:

Review, approve, and sign:

Individualized treatment plans. All required clinical documentation, forms, and compliance paperwork. Ensure strict adherence to Medicaid regulations, policies, and billing guidelines. Team Collaboration & Leadership:

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (clinical, nursing, educational, case management) in delivering integrated psychiatric care. Provide on-call support via telephone, as scheduled. Serve as a clinical leader to support effective, evidence-based care practices. Promote and ensure compliance with clinical practice guidelines. Foster a collaborative team environment committed to improving patient outcomes.
