Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the preparation and coordination of all external financial reporting requirements, conduct accounting research, resolve complex accounting issues, and oversee the implementation of new accounting guidance and reporting governance. The role includes monitoring and updating financial controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal control standards, as well as developing and implementing global accounting policies. Additionally, this position will support the Chief Accounting Officer with various projects and collaborate closely with senior management. The Sr. Manager will be involved in corporate initiatives and complex transaction analysis to ensure that accounting implications are well-understood by decision-makers. Supervisory responsibilities may include training, mentoring, performance appraisal, and resolving employee issues. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement process improvements for consolidation and financial reporting cycles. Manage multiple, time-sensitive financial projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively under pressure. Prepare external financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows, Equity, and footnotes. Assist in preparing quarterly reporting packages under IFRS for parent company reporting. Collaborate with FP&A to produce monthly reports, earnings calls, and board meeting materials. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures. Research and resolve reporting and accounting issues. Document technical accounting conclusions, especially for significant contracts, and guide the GL accounting team on revenue and cost recognition. Assess and implement new accounting standards and reporting governance standards. Design and monitor financial controls to ensure internal compliance. Analyze complex transactions to support business operations. Support leadership with special projects and liaise with internal and external auditors. Write and implement accounting policies, ensuring practical application. Stay updated on technical accounting and reporting developments and communicate potential impacts. Lead meetings with finance management to address technical accounting topics. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification. Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, including Big 4 or top-tier public accounting and/or corporate reporting. Knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition, SOX, and financial controls. Experience with external financial statement preparation or auditing, preferably in SEC environments. Strong prioritization and deadline management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to research and analyze technical accounting issues. Flexible and adaptable to changing environments. Knowledge of IFRS, M&A, Purchase Accounting, HFM, and Oracle. Leadership experience in motivating and mentoring teams.
