Senior IP Litigation Associate

Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking a Senior IP Litigation Associate with 6-9 years of experience to join its team. This position is ideal for an attorney with significant patent litigation experience, including trial, motions, depositions, expert reports, and discovery management. The successful candidate will work on high-profile biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent cases. Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology or advanced chemistry are highly preferred. Location: Chicago, IL Duties: Lead patent litigation cases, including preparation for trial, motions, depositions, and discovery management. Prepare expert reports and manage discovery processes in complex IP cases, specifically in biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields. Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings related to patent disputes. Collaborate with other attorneys to develop case strategies and litigation plans. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Advise clients on patent-related legal matters, including litigation strategies and risk management. Requirements: 6-9 years of patent litigation experience, with specific experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical patent law. Experience with trial preparation, motions, depositions, and discovery management. Strong academic credentials, including a degree in molecular biology or an advanced chemistry degree. Ability to manage multiple complex cases and deadlines effectively. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. Education: JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Degree in molecular biology, advanced chemistry, or a related field (preferred). Certifications: Active bar admission in the state of practice. Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expertise in biotechnology/biologic pharmaceuticals is highly preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
