Position description
The Department of Theater and Dance at University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a
lecturer to teach courses in Costume Design and History of Period Styles during the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
Courses are undergraduate in nature and may include Costume Design, Costume Technology, Rendering,
Costume History, Period Styles, and/or mentoring of student designers, dependent on the candidates
strengths and specialties.
Work will be in person on the UCSB campus; reimbursement for travel and housing expenses cannot be
provided. Salary is based on UC's salary
scales and depends on qualifications.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
(required at time of application) Two years of teaching and/or professional experience in the field
Preferred qualifications MFA in Costume Design or related field
