About This Role:
This position provides routine care and nutrition for animals. Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting housing facilities and feeding equipment. This position reports to the appropriate administrator. No minimum requirements. Some positions may require additional education (or relevant experience) that will be specified on the position description. Various training and/or certification may be required. This position is covered by the Kansas Association of Public Employees (KAPE) agreement.
This is a full-time position (M-F, 8a-5p) that includes holidays and weekends on a rotational schedule.
Worksite Options:
This position is required to be performed
on-site . Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer three years of experience in caring for large animals (especially veterinary hospital experience).
Ability to write and interpret written instructions.
Ability to communicate orally with professional and subordinate personnel.
Ability to supervise work of students and volunteer employees.
Ability to transport feed sacks, hay and/or wood shaving bales.
Knowledge of animal nutrition and the procedures used in feeding, watering, housing, identifying and handling research, teaching and client food and pleasure animals.
May also include infrequent exotic animal species.
Other Requirements:
Must possess and keep a valid driver's license once employed. Various training and/or certification may be required.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
$15.50-18.00 per hour
