Project Manager - Water Business - Northern California

Black & Veatch is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established and expanding water/wastewater team in Northern California. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for leading our State and Local Government and Water business with clients in Northern California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing client and pursuit strategies, relationship management, leading business development activities, overall business financial management, contract management, and ensuring client satisfaction. The Client Director is accountable for meeting new business and earnings financial goals; development of strong relationships with clients, teaming partners and contractors; driving business development; and selling the Black & Veatch full suite of services. We serve public and private clients of every size with a strong focus on life cycle economy, efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and implement Client Development Plans for assigned clients Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients, business partners, and competitors Develop client and pursuit strategies Lead or support proposal development Make Go / No Go decisions or recommendations and assist with preparation of Proposal Review Board documents Serve as the Client Director and provide leadership to project and pursuit teams Meet new business and earnings financial goals Manage assigned business development budget Manage contracts and legal issues Manage and mitigate risks Identify key client interests and drivers on projects and pursuits and communicate with team members Leverage professional networking skills to help identify and pursue project opportunities Supervise and mentor project team members Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field Prefer 10+ years professional experience managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver new business for water and wastewater utility and state and local government projects Previous consulting experience Proficiency with computer software, including MS Office Suite and Project Software Experience preparing proposals; negotiating and managing contracts; managing project budgets, costs and accounts receivables Experience with planning, delegation, directing others and conflict management Experience dealing with ambiguity and building effective teams Client Focus: Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on complex projects Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on complex projects Actively lead business development and development of strategies for client pursuit activities People Management - (supervision, career development, training, mentoring): Assist with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions as required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
