Test Technician
Test electrical and electronic assemblies using documented and accepted methods and procedures. Test, repair and integrate complex electronic or electrical subassemblies, to higher level assemblies, cabinets and systems. Utilize common test equipment, Automatic Test Equipment, other subsystem components and product software in the performance of this function. Provide for the movement, assembly and setup of test equipment. Modify test sequences as appropriate. Utilize basic assembly tools for disassembly, troubleshooting and rework processes. When assigned, participate in the development of pre-production designs, equipment and test procedures within the product development process. With limited direction, disassemble, test, troubleshoot and retest returned product and participate in the corrective action process. Perform mechanical and electromechanical tests. Set up, operate, and maintain environmental test equipment in support of production, first article, and development testing. Calibrate, modify, troubleshoot and repair both commercial and special test equipment and/or mechanical fixturing. Fabricate and assemble test equipment, tools and fixtures in accordance with designs provided by engineering and test engineering. Assist in development and modification of calibration procedures. Maintain records of equipment calibration, maintenance and repair actions. Perform work of a miscellaneous nature whenever it is conducive to efficient operation and/or maintaining product flow. May direct others within test and electronic technician classifications. May perform lower level test functions as assigned, etc. Keep facilities, material and work area orderly, exercising care in their use, maintaining general good housekeeping practices, and conforming to all ethics, health, safety, compliance and quality requirements. MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO WORK ANY SHIFT Basic Qualifications: Two year tech school or equivalent level of education or work experience. Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings and schematics and understand verbal and written instruction. Demonstrated soldering ability. Ability to use basic hand and power tools. Solid AC/DC theory background. Demonstrated ability to test and troubleshoot electronic subassemblies, utilizing various test equipment Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair complex test equipment and set ups. Ability to maintain accurate records. Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Obtaining a security clearance requires US Citizenship Desired Skills: Strong computer and verbal communication. Comfortable using data bases to store and retrieve information.
