Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL has a full-time Lab Associate I opportunity! In this Phlebotomy & Processing role, you will engage with patients from infants to adults. Perfect for someone experienced in phlebotomy and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Monday - Friday (Mon-Fri) Evening Shift - 10am 8pm (4 10-hour shifts) Rotating weekends (every third weekend) and rotating holidays Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services, and more. Role Purpose: Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing, and clerical duties associated with specimen collection. Responsibilities: Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection, and specimen integrity. Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. Interacts with lab, clinical, and other ancillary departments.
